Insights from Technobank 2025: what’s shaping the future of banking?

Key themes, emerging tech, and bold ideas redefining financial services

We were proud to be part of Technobank 2025, the leading conference on banking and payments innovation in Southeastern Europe. Held on April 9–10 at the Crowne Plaza in Belgrade, the event brought together 500+ banking professionals, tech innovators, and thought leaders from across the region—and we were right at the heart of it all.

As platinum sponsors, together with our long-standing partner NCR Atleos, we welcomed guests to oue booth—a space for discovery, discussion, and shared inspiration. Our colleagues from Albania, North Macedonia, Croatia, Serbia, and Montenegro joined us, making it a true cross-regional effort and reflecting the collaborative spirit that drives us forward.

We used this opportunity not just to unveil the latest NCR self-service device, designed to handle nearly all non-cash transactions in-branch, but also to re-introduce our entire portfolio of solutions tailored to the banking and payments ecosystem. From digital transformation strategies to secure transaction solutions, we showed how we’re helping financial institutions navigate complexity and unlock new value.

Beyond our own solutions, our ecosystem of partners brought powerful technologies to the table:

  • INETCO showcased BullzAI, an AI-driven fraud detection platform built to protect real-time transactions.
  • Verifone introduced their Android POS terminals, raising the bar for merchant and customer interactions at the point of sale.

Together, we presented a unified vision of smarter, safer, and more personalized financial services.

The agenda at Technobank was packed with forward-thinking sessions. One standout moment? Our own Igor Kujundziski, Group Technology & Solutions Architecture Manager, took the stage with his talk: “Beyond Transactions: Leveraging Payment & Self-Service Devices for Targeted Marketing.He shared how banks can turn everyday infrastructure—like ATMs and self-service devices—into touchpoints for hyper-relevant marketing, moving beyond function to build connection.

What we saw, heard and learned

At Technobank 2025, the conference agenda painted a vivid picture of what’s next in banking and financial services. Key themes emerged throughout—from the rise of AI as a strategic enabler in financial services, to the growing importance of cybersecurity in an era of open banking. Discussions around building seamless digital ecosystems, the evolution of super-apps, and the push to modernize legacy banking infrastructure reflected a clear industry shift toward more agile, customer-centric models. These conversations echoed what we see every day: that while technology continues to evolve at a rapid pace, its real value lies in how it’s applied to meet human needs and create meaningful, frictionless experiences.

This event was also a chance to connect with our clients, partners, and peers across the region. From meaningful conversations at the booth to spontaneous brainstorms in the hallways, we left energized and inspired. Our regional teams showed up with passion, ready to share insights and explore new ways to help banks stay ahead in a fast-changing digital landscape.
